and lo and behold when april 24th comes we’re all right back here complaining the app won’t update us. that some asshole at the irs just changed the error 109 page to say that to get us to calm the f down. cuz everyone in our situation all at once gets the same message that the checks are “scheduled” to be mailed april 24. IRS website claims that paper checks will be sent dead last. People are going to lose their apartments, not be able to feed their kids, can’t get much needed medicines, and just all around won’t be able to care for their families if they have to wait until fall for a paper check. But regardless, this is the most vulnerable population (those that don’t owe nor receive a refund usually don’t have any income to begin with and only filed to become eligible for the stimulus check). I don’t know how they think we will be grateful if we have to wait months to receive our paper checks? People will be furious. Basically, using the checks as a political move. And some believe it’s because trump put his name on the checks (memo line) and that it was a calculated move so that we are grateful to him for sending us $1,200, in hopes that we vote for him this coming election. that we will have to wait for paper checks. This bug with the tool seems like it needs to be fixed ASAP, as many are in this situation of having filed taxes but having 0 amount owed and 0 refund expected. Reference Number 109 (for Internal Use only)" If a non-zero amount is entered instead, the tool returns a different error stating that the tax return information doesn't match. However, for anyone who has no expected refund and no amount owed, the tool won't accept values of "0" for either choice (expected refund or amount owed).Įntering the correct information returns an error page: "Technical Difficulties We apologise for the inconvenience but this service is currently unavailable. Others in my same situation are also unable to get the tool. I'm unable to complete the "Get My Payment" tool.

If you're also experiencing this issue, please feel free to modify it for use as a template: "Zero Filers" (those who filed taxes but don't owe or expect a refund) are getting Technical Difficulty Error 109 from the Get My Payment Form when entering the correct information, and getting an "information does not match that on record" error when attempting to enter incorrect information. I urge anyone experiencing this problem to try and report this bug with the Get My Payment tool to your local "TAS office". Rather than trust strangers on the internet, contact your local resources to get accurate answers.Īpparently Taxpayer Advocate Services offices are a thing, and their phones might be open.
